Overworld Tier Lists
Ranked builds, skills, and gear for Early Access progression.
Tier lists help Overworld players answer one question: what should I invest in first? This hub ranks combat styles, skill order, and early gear without pretending the meta is frozen forever.
Overworld lets you swap playstyles by changing gear—Melee, Ranged, or Mage—so rankings emphasize early efficiency and cost, not lifelong lock-in.
Lists in this hub
- Combat Builds Tier List — Melee vs Ranged vs Mage right now
- Skills Priority Tier List — which of the eleven skills to push first
- Early Gear Tier List — copper, iron, and boss-set breakpoints
How to read our grades
S — Best default for most new accounts
A — Excellent with mild caveats
B — Viable, situational
C — Weak early or expensive to maintain
Patch days can shuffle potion costs and weapon kits. Pair ranks with Patch Notes Hub and live practice in Dungeons and Bosses.
Beginner recommendation snapshot
Most players should start Ranged for safe Goblin Camp XP, fund arrows with Make Money Fast, and craft armor through Mining and Smithing. Mage can wait until mana sustain feels comfortable. Melee is fine if you enjoy pocketing health potions and standing in boss faces with a party.
Cross-links
Use the Skill Checklist to track levels that unlock tools. When a rank mentions party play, open Party and PvP. For controls that make combat smoother, see Controls and Settings.

Meta humility
Early Access metas swing when arrow crafting costs change or a boss resist shifts. Use tiers as a starting bias, then trust your parses from a night of Goblin Camp. If Ranged feels starved on your economy, Melee with friends can outpace a theoretical S-tier you cannot afford to feed.
How we gather evidence
We watch creator combat guides, read reproducible player reports, and test logical loops against our own checklists. We do not sell ranks. When evidence conflicts, we favor the option with lower upkeep for new accounts.
Applying ranks in a party
Share this hub before raid night. If three players all insist on pure Mage without mana infrastructure, expect wipes. Diversify using Party and PvP role talk, then refine personal ranks after loot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Overworld players.
Is Ranged always S-tier?
It is the strongest early DPS profile in current community consensus, but arrow upkeep matters. Check the combat builds page for details.
Do tier lists replace quests?
No. Quests still teach systems and grant permanent stats. Use Getting Started first.
How often do you update ranks?
After meaningful combat or crafting patches noted in the Updates Hub.
